"Oh the places you’ll go; today is your day. Your mountain is waiting, so … get on your way!"
Our bright and colourful Reception classroom presents a setting where imagination and curiosity join forces to begin the greatest adventure of all. A happy and stimulating environment, our commitment to small teaching groups enables our highly-skilled staff to recognise the individuality of every child who in turn are encouraged and supported to progress in their own way and in their own time.
Following the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, our children acquire their learning practices through a mixture of self-initiated experiences and adult-planned instruction. Alongside their more formal teaching, which includes phonics for reading, writing and daily number activities, the children indulge themselves in the daily opportunities provided to explore and investigate, more often than not outside amongst our beautiful 40 acres of surrey countryside.
Sport, ICT, Music, French, Swimming, Street Dance/Movement to Music are all taught by specialist teachers from our Prep and Senior School, a rare and beneficial commodity for all of our young learners and the fun does not stop there. Regular outings to interesting locations such as the Alpaca Farm in Haslemere and paddling on West Wittering Beach are most definitely a highlight on the children’s calendar.
For our Reception class, the difference between ordinary and extraordinary is that little extra.
