Food and Nutrition
We are very aware the children in our EYFS years require a low sugar and low salt diet and with this in mind, the school kitchen provides our young learners with an exciting and nutritious menu. Platters of fresh fruit, rice cakes, bread sticks and crackers are served at mid-morning and mid-afternoon breaks, together with water and milk – in fact water is available to the children throughout the day as play and discovery can be thirsty work! At midday, freshly prepared and cooked lunches are served in the panelled dining room in the main school building where family style dining is promoted. Non-dairy and vegetarian alternatives are provided and special dietary requirements for the children can be discussed and catered for with our Head of Catering. All of our recipes are low sugar, no added salt and we keep processed foods to an absolute minimum. The children also enjoy an array of less sugary puddings.
