St. Edmund’s host their annual U9’s Football Tournament

St. Ed’s held their annual U9’s football tournament last week and just as the first whistle blew, the sunshine emerged from a dark and gloomy sky, although the St. Ed’s hot chocolate remained a welcome refreshment! Joining the competition were Bordon, Camelsdale, Herne Juniors, Liss, Rowledge, Chandler and of course St. Edmund’s.

The level of football played was excellent with one coach commenting, “it is great to see the boys and girls playing in such a sporting manner.” During the round-robin style tournament, both Chandler and Rowledge finished with 16 points, so with the tension levels of a Hollywood block-buster thriller, the overall winner was determined by goal difference. Many congratulations to ‘Chandler’ who clinched the title of Tournament Champions with just one goal!

Mr Taylor and Mr Ward presented the trophies and medals to all of the competing teams, commenting, “Congratulations to each of you playing today. The level of football was simply outstanding and it has been both an honour and privilege to host such an enjoyable and successful event”.
