The Arts

A passion for the Arts is the mark of a civilised society and at St. Edmundís we consider ourselves highly civilised but in a totally unfussy way. Our programme ensures that all children experience a wide range of activities designed to increase not only their skills but also their appreciation and understanding of the worldís cultural heritage. We aim to accommodate all-comers, both those with considerable experience and those who want to try something for the first time. No one is unwelcome. Inclusiveness is a core arts value that we pride ourselves on and one of the reasons why pupils are so keen to get involved in the arts at St. Edís.

Our Music provision is plentiful, with virtually every conceivable instrument and musical style on offer. With a diverse range of full time and specialist peripatetic music staff, music at St. Edís is more than a curricular or co-curricular subject, it is more a way of life! Similarly, the quality of art is first class; our pupils paint, sculpt, film, photograph, assemble and make imaginative and sometimes unexpected creations! And in our newly refurbished Jubilee Hall, dazzling stage productions, bespoke drama workshops, visiting Theatre companies and Drama Club ensure everyone experiences the stage, both on it and behind it. Specialist teachers are also available for coaching pupils who wish to take LAMDA.
