Little Ed's

Life in our Reception class is certainly fun and busy! Our children benefit greatly from weekly visits from the Prep School and Senior School Specialist Teaching staff who lead sessions in French, Sport, ICT, Woodwork, Music and Dance. In addition to the weekly timetable, our children can also join a number of after school co-curricular clubs from 3.30 pm to 4.30 pm each day including Ballet, Tennis, Judo and Golf. Children can also join our popular “Run Club” in the Summer Term.

Furthermore, we are incredibly proud of our pioneering partnership with Huntington House, a residential care home in Grayshott. Our children visit the residents every Wednesday morning where they read stories together, play games and more often than not, enjoy a singsong and dance. The positive interaction between the different generations has been the subject of many documentaries and research over the past year which is what inspired our Head of EYFS, Karen Bailey to contact nearby Huntington House.

Charlie Hoare, Managing Director at Huntington House commented, “The children’s visits have been an instant hit with our residents. There is fundamental evidence that by combining the two generations within a social setting can seriously reduce the levels of loneliness and depression amongst the elderly, whilst at the same time encouraging the children to interact and be comfortable with older people broadening their understanding of their community. There is no doubting the Little Ed’s visits are a highlight of the week here now!”
