Hogwarts Boarding Night

The Ministry of Magic commandeered St. Ed’s this month, and it was strictly no entry to all Dermentors and Death Eaters. Professor Dumbledore had issued the Sorting Hat the previous day, with Hufflepuff and Gryffindor being the top choice picks, although there were a couple of children overjoyed at being chosen for Slytherin, much to Professor Snape’s delight! The Leaky Cauldron kindly provided our young wizards with a meal of “Everything Pie” followed by Wizard Mix, all washed down with a thirst quenching Butterbeer. Following supper, the young wizards enjoyed a quick trip down Diagon Alley to Dervish and Banges although there was uproar when a few Slytherin novices were found in Weasley’s Wizard Wheezers buying extendable ears and pygmy puffs … Thankfully Professor Slughorn was on novice duty and managed to protect the innocent bystanders with his Repello Inimicum spell. Up on the Quidditch pitch and due to their Defence against the Dark Arts lessons, Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff’s seekers both overcame Draco Malfoy’s hexes, catching their snitches in the closing seconds of the game. In the final match, Hufflepuff lost out to Gryffindor due to a superb final minute Bludger by Gryffindor’s Captain! To celebrate, Madam Professor McGonagall allowed all wizards a pack of Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Beans. The Daily Prophet recorded the next day that the Minister of Magic was most impressed with the young wizards at St. Ed’s commenting, “I am delighted that not a single ‘Howler’ was delivered nor did a single wizard attempt Apparate. The Ministry of Magic will most certainly be returning to St. Ed’s”. Hurrah!
