A trip to Kew

Our Form 10 IGCSE students swapped their classroom for the beautiful surroundings of the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew this term. Focussing on their Botanical Study element to their coursework, the girls enjoyed an entire day enriching their inspiration through the iconic glasshouses and arboretum of over 1,400 trees. Their highlight was visiting the recently installed “Hive”, a unique multi-sensory experience designed to promote the extraordinary life of Bees. A feat of British engineering, the Hive is set in a meadow of wildflowers where you can explore and consider the complex relationship between plants and their pollinators. What better stimulus do you need for producing a masterpiece!
