Design & Technology
Design and technology offers a unique opportunity for your child to identify and solve real problems by designing and making products or systems. It encourages children's creativity and encourages them to think about important issues.
Pupils at St. Edmund's are given the opportunity to develop skills, knowledge and understanding of designing and making functional products. We feel it is vital to nurture creativity and innovation through design, and by exploring the designed and made world in which we all live and work.
DT teaches Maths and English and other subjects on the curriculum in a fun and inspiring manner and put these subjects into context, making them easier to digest and more understandable to younger pupils.
In the Prep School, pupils have a one hour ‘Technology’ lesson per week. This alternates each week between DT and ICT for pupils in Forms 5 and 6 and between DT and Computer Science for pupils in Forms 7 and 8.

Form 5 – Acrylics, key fobs, buzzing robots, musical instruments, bridges.
Form 6 – Wooden pencil holders, walking robots, structures.
