Swimming

Our on-site swimming pool is always a hive of activity. Swimming is incorporated into the timetable for all pupils from Reception to Form 11 so that they have the opportunity, not only to learn how to swim but also to grow in confidence when in the water. On site we have four, fully qualified NPLQ Lifeguards, with further staff all completing the NRASTC Life Saver qualification. We have our own swim levels and each pupil strives to achieve them during their time here. For the Prep and Senior School pupils, we offer a wide range of water sports from water polo, basic lifeguard / saver skills to Aqua Zumba!

As with our other sports, we enter competitive galas against other schools and have had pupils not only represent us but win their races in IAPS swimming competitions! A number of our pupils swim regularly outside of school for clubs and have raced in County competitions.

Throughout the Lent term we run our annual Boats competition in which pupils in Forms 3 to 8 compete against not only their fellow peers but also those in the older forms. This fun community event has been running since 1999!

For those who crave more time in the water we run after school swim squads three times a week to either further swimming skills, boost confidence or just to enjoy a swim.
