Rugby

Going from strength-to-strength, rugby at St Edmund’s is one of the four key sports. Played towards the end of the Michaelmas term through to the beginning of the Lent term, all the boys in the Lower and Prep School participate in rugby in some form.  All students play in competitive weekly fixtures which vary from tag all the way to full contact.

In the Senior School, rugby is one of the options during Lent term. This is in the form of 7 and 15 a-side. We play regular U14, U15 and U16 fixtures against a variety of schools. We have pupils that play Academy and County rugby. We have links with rugby academies such as Harlequins and London Irish which allows us to put pupils forward for trials.

There is also the opportunity to participate in after-school rugby club which provides pupils with extra skill-specific sessions.
