Computer Science
In Computer Science we develop our coding and problem-solving skills to understand how computers work at a fundamental level. This gives students the tools they need to solve a wide range of creative problems that interest them, such as creating chatbots, writing programs that make music and designing simple games using code.
Computer Science leads to a wide range of careers, that could involve creating interfaces for large online platforms, working with climate scientists to predict the environmental impacts of deforestation, or working out the most efficient ways to get medicine to where it is needed.
In Forms 9-11 we offer the Edexcel GCSE in Computer Science (Computer Science (2020) | Pearson qualifications). This qualification offers an exciting, practical focus on real-life programming, developing skills relevant to the future. This includes an innovative onscreen assessment to ensure all students develop the computational skills they need for an exciting digital future beyond the classroom.
